Fashion Expansion: Spring Shoes

29 Feb

I recently discovered the ModCloth shoe selection and have quickly become obsessed.  They have the quirkiest and most unusual shoe selection I’ve ever seen!  I thought I’d share my spring shoe selections purely from ModCloth since I’ve been trolling their selection for days.  It seems my inclinations are all across the board this spring, including bold colors, stripes, and classic neutrals.   Looks like I’ll be prepared for any occasion.  Also, I may or may not have already purchased 2 pairs from the selection below.  Any guesses?

ModCloth Stay Marigold Flat ($37.99)

ModCloth Miss Mesa Verde Wedge ($88)

ModCloth Back to Square Fun Heel in White ($64.99)

ModCloth Glitz Have a Party Flats ($29.99)

ModCloth Neap Tide Heel ($34.99)

ModCloth Marvelous Macchiato Wedge ($42.99)

Weekend Snapshots

27 Feb

I spent the weekend doing some of my favorite activities…including running, playing with our kitty, camping, painting my nails, and reading a book.  It’s infrequent that I get to enjoy so much in one weekend.  It included time alone, time with John, and time with friends.  What more could a girl ask for?

Rough.

Anybody else out there have a difficult week?  Yeesh.  That was rooooough.  Good thing I have a 10k race + camping weekend planned.  If only Friday offered time for work to wind down to the weekend– but it’s packed just as full as the rest of the week!  On a happy note, I engaged in some enjoyable online retail therapy in anticipation of the Texas Style Council weekend coming up.  I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of other style bloggers and learning new and creative ways to improve this little ‘ole project of mine.  Plus, getting out of town for the weekend is just plain fun.  I’ll give you a sneak peak next week of what I’m planning to wear–got any suggestions?  Oh, and I almost forgot–this is what I wore to church this past weekend–a little mixture of tans, browns, and greens + I rescued a closet orphan.  This vest doesn’t get nearly enough attention.

Red.

20 Feb

After discussing ways to wear red pants last week, I decided I should really pull out my own pair and finally wear them.  It’s possible you recognize these pants from an old post.  Seriously, if you did recognize them, that’s crazy.  I took a thrifted pair of white pants and dyed them red with RIT dye (well, actually, I accidentally dyed them mauve on my first try, then tried again with extra red dye to make sure it worked).  I may need to do a post on RIT dye sometime–that stuff is awesome!  What’s not awesome?  The way these pants fit.  They sit waaaaay above my belly button.  Now pretend I didn’t say that and look at the photos.  Hopefully you can’t tell, but I only spent $3 max on them, so I think I’m still ahead.
